OdenseNLP is part of the Danish Foundation Models initiative.

OdenseNLP is part of the Danish Foundation Models (DFM) initiative: a national collaboration developing, evaluating, and adapting open language AI for Danish society. DFM focuses on the full AI stack, from training data and model development to evaluation benchmarks and real-world adaptation, with all models, datasets, and research made openly available.

The initiative brings together Danish research institutions, including University of Southern Denmark (SDU), Aarhus University, University of Copenhagen, and the Alexandra Institute, and has received 30.7 million DKK from the Danish Ministry of Digital Affairs to establish a secure R&D platform for training, fine-tuning, evaluating, and maintaining Danish foundation models.
